Ethereum Blockchain
Ethereum is a planetary scale computer. That means the vision of the Ethereum team was to create one single blockchain for the entire world. This vision of the blockchain system is known as the Ethereum World Computer.
Ethereum world computer is a group of computer systems interconnected together to form a decentralized peer-to-peer network of systems. Each of these systems is known as a node. The nodes run a specialized software called Ethereum client to connect each other, thus forming the Ethereum Network.
Ethereum is the world’s first major programmable blockchain which brought potential disruptions in many domains, from e-commerce to the Internet of Things. Enabling transparent multi-party trustless governing environment for many communities and businesses.
Applications built on top of the Ethereum blockchain network run exactly as programmed, which means they are deterministic, there is no downtime, there is no censorship, and there is no third-party interference.
These applications are known as Decentralized applications, which can be built using the existing web application development technology stack with the core logic being written in Ethereum smart contracts.
